Experience matters. So does understanding each patient.
I am Assoc. Prof. Dr Wolfram Steens, an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, joint replacement and cartilage repair.
Over the course of my career, I have focused on both joint-preserving treatments and complex joint replacement surgery. Today, I perform around 650 procedures each year, ranging from minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgery to primary and revision joint replacement.
Before joining ONZ, I spent five years at the renowned ENDO-Klinik in Hamburg, further specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery. I am also a certified cartilage specialist and remain actively involved in the development and teaching of modern surgical techniques.
For me, successful treatment begins with understanding each patient's individual history and needs. This is especially important for patients travelling from abroad: my team and I aim to make the entire process as clear and straightforward as possible – from the first assessment through treatment and recovery.
